After a buffet breakfast at The Old Faithful Inn, we headed South from Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park. As you can see on the map, it was a quick trip since the two parks are basically connected. I’ve not mentioned this before, but I LOVE mountains. Not only are they beautiful, but they are awe-inspiring to me. They seem so powerful. In fact, mountains are the landscape where I feel the closest to God and his awesomeness. Recently in church they read a verse from Psalms that made me think of how amazing nature is. It led me to this verse…Psalm 65:6 “Which by his strength sets fast the mountains; being surrounded with power.” So I’m not the only one that feels that way about mountains. 🙂
Along the way we passed the Continental Divide and a beautiful waterfall. Of course we had to stop at the waterfall (another of my loves). The kids enjoyed getting close to this one.
And finally…the Grand Tetons!
This is one of those things where pictures just aren’t the same. I feel the same way about trying to describe it…it’s indescribable. Which leads me back to the church service where I heard Psalm 19. It was the inspiration for the song “Indescribable” which we sang in church that day. It sums up how I feel about mountains and all of God’s amazing creations. Do you have a song that does the same for you?
These photos look amazing! I've always wanted to do a road trip through the southwest…I am sure I will someday, and Teton is a must-see for me 🙂
I am glad you liked the pictures. I felt like they were awful compared to actually being there. So I really appreciate that comment.
You should definitely do the road trip. Maybe when your son is a little older and will remember it more.
My entire family loved it.
The mountains take my breathe away! I've always wanted to see the Tetons. I'm huge fan of Ansel Adams, and he photographed so much there.
Yes, so beautiful…both the mountains and Ansel Adams work.
I agree Mountains just highlight God's glory. Montana/Wyoming area is probably the prettiest place in the country, in my opinion. They have great boysenberry too 🙂 Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL pictures!
So glad you enjoyed the pictures. It is a gorgeous place! I didn't try the boysenberry while I was there, but I did try huckleberry ice cream and it was delicious. Wonder if they taste similar?

Wow, what a nice compliment! So glad you enjoyed my blog. I will look forward to reading more of your comments in the future. 🙂
Beautiful shots! I love how you captured the Tetons. We did this trip during the Fall a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the Tetons were covered with clouds. You're so right that they need to be seen in person and words and pictures just can't describe their beauty.
Thanks, Mary! We were very blessed to have the weather we did. That would stink if it were all covered in clouds!
Great photos 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
This area is one of my favorite places to be! Those are beautiful mountains.
Aren't they gorgeous?! I could have looked at them all day.
I love mountains too. Your second and third last photos are my favourites as water and boats are high on my love list as well. Beautiful photos all round though.
Thank you! I also love the water. Water in front of mountains is one of my favorite scenes.
Those mountain shots are absolutely stunning. Beautiful post.
Thank you so much! It's hard to take a bad picture of something so amazing!
I've always wanted to hike in the Grand Tetons – but I haven't made it yet even though I've been through the area a couple of times – always in winter. Looks very pretty in summer.
It was so pretty in summer. I can't imagine how snowy it must be in winter. Do you have any pictures posted somewhere?
You've captured the grandeur of the Tetons. Magnificent and impressive!

Thanks so much!
I've seen the Tetons from the air, but never on the ground. Definitely want to visit here!
I bet it was beautiful from the air as well.
The Grand Tetons are amazing, we have been twice and it took my breath away just as much the second time!
