One of the things on my Barcelona to do list was la Boqueria Market. It was walking distance from our hotel, so we headed there for lunch one day.
The food stands were so colorful and organized.
We started with some fresh fruit juice smoothies that we enjoyed as we walked around.
I was so tempted by other things, like this candy, but my goal was to find a filling lunch.
The market did offer a few "food type" Barcelona souvenirs, but it wasn't touristy at all, which I really liked.
In fact, many locals were there buying food for their families, like this seafood. And when I say many, I mean it! There were A LOT of people there!
There was quite the variety in food, including this salted fish and my favorite stand below.
Is that not the cutest? This was the egg stand that I thought was decorated so adorable. This is not how I buy my eggs at the grocery store, but I wish it was.
We can't forget about the famous Spanish Ham. I ended up getting some of this in my lunch. Check out the video below to see what I got, as well as, the rest of the market.
Told you there were lots of people there! Wasn't the guy who made my crepe entertaining?
I was very happy with my choice of lunch. I have to tell you, it was one of the best things I had the entire time I was in Barcelona. I wanted to go back the next day and get it again!
I love it when a travel book tells you to do something and it turns out awesome! If you are ever in Barcelona, you should definitely go to the Boqueria Market. I also highly recommend the crepes!
Love crepes? Savory or sweet? What is your favorite thing to get in them?
